I use the pool spa and showers at our brand new 24 Super sport. Sadly, after only a couple of months there are several issues in these areas. The maintenance man quit. If those issues had been addressed with the customers in mind I wouldn't of had to call the Health Dept today. Spa has been green, now it's the pool. Staff was aware and did nothing. After you bring in a new maintenance personnel if you could also train existing personnel to assist in their absence, they may be there will be harmony within the ranks and with the customers. Additionally, if you could change the time and what the cleaning personal did and when, you will have happy customers who will not defect to all the other choices in the community. Lastly, major sewer smell issues in the locker rooms need to be explored.

Just getting started with this club and getting back into my fitness groove. I used to be an avid runner and I am trying to get back to that. Interested in cardio, weights and trying some of the classes. I'm great with motivation and would like someone that is the same. I am available to meet-up Mon-Fri 7:00-8:15 in the morning and would like to work-up to weekend runs outside.

My child was disciplined by a 24 hr employee while in kids club on saturday morning. Unfortunately my son said the "f bomb". The 24 hr employee gave him a time out and showed her discuss towards my wife and I when picking up my child. He is now afraid to go back because "she will be there". My son was intimidated and frightened even after we picked him up. Do I need to take this further up the ladder or will this person be removed from future kids clud time. Please let me know what actions you will be taking so I may decide on the actions necessary.

Monday evening spin boot camp was removed for body combat at Antioch Sport club. Why can't the "powers to be" at 24 bring back spin boot camp in the evening. This class had a large following, it was always full.

Why don't the 24 hour fitness clubs in the Los Angeles area have monitors in the gym to make sure that people are using the sign-=in sheets, or even to take their names personally? It's frustrating to pay money or a membership to a gym and have to wait an hour to play basketball because everybody who has "next" already has a whole team, even though there are only a few people waiting. After the current game is over, they just pick up current players. I know that a lot of the clubs have sign-in boards to list games and the players. Why isn't this enforced? The club in Glendale used to have somebody come in and actually take names and monitor. Having the monitor leads to less arguing, less wait times (meaning more playing time for everybody) and cuts out confusion of who has next, only to find out that somebody else also thinks that their game is up. If you leave the gym to pass time elsewhere, good luck getting your game back. If you arent waiting, you aren't going to keep your spot. Another reason to have the monitor or enforce the sign-in sheet. As many times as I have brought this up to workers, it is just ignored.

This tasty Thai classic is easy to make and healthy. If you like it spicy, add your favorite chilis (we like serranos).

I don't know how to give this club enough kudos. Not only does it have one of the strongest Group X classes and instructors in Colorado, but it now has the best manager I have ever seen at 24 Hour Fitness. This club was one of the first to open in Colorado and the weights in the Group X room were original and dripping sand all over the place. Many people have asked for new weights for years, and Aaron, the new manager, has finally been able to fulfill that request. Thank you 24 Hour Corporate for listening to one of your managers and thank you Aaron for making this happen. Seriously, he shoud win 24 Hour manager of the year award.
From a very happy Group X member at Parker and Quincy!!!! Jeanne {personal info removed}

The downtown La Jolla Sport Club has 1 small fan for the entire club. I was there today and there were probably less than 10 other people in the entire gym and it felt like a sauna. I can't image was a swamp it must feel like at rush hour. Not too mention that in the past few months the manager set the AC to 72F, up from 68F that it had been set for years. I'm sure 24 Hour Fitness can at least afford a couple fans for its members since the Midway gym have at least 6 in that gym.

When I retired, I decided to make going to the gym my job. It added structure to my life and has improved my life. I used to go to the water aerobics classes only. Then, when in Hawaii, saw a zumba demonstration and tried zumba and loved it. Now zumba is part of my routine. When the pool was down for major repairs, I tried turbo kick boxing and love that too, Now I find myself going to 24 hour fitness 6 times a week. I will be 75 in July and hope I can keep it up for many years.

Show mom you care with a healthy breakfast in bed. Our Healthful Mother's Day Brunch includes an easy make-ahead Veggie and Egg White Frittata and whole-wheat blueberry pancakes that will get her special day started out right.
Why blueberries?
Often referred to as a “super food,” blueberries are packed with antioxidants and phytoflavinoids which are known to lower the risk for heart disease and cancer but they’re also an anti-inflammatory which can help with many chronic diseases. Not bad for a simple breakfast food huh?
INGREDIENTS
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups low fat milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 large egg
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 cup fresh blueberries
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients except blueberries in a large bowl and stir until just mixed. Some lumps are OK. Place blueberries in a small bowl and toss with 1-2 tablespoons of flour - this will help them not "bleed" into the pancake batter.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Spray skillet with nonstick cooking spray. For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup batter onto skillet and top with 5 or 6 blueberries. When bubbles start to appear on the top of the pancakes, flip them over and cook 1-2 minutes or until brown. Repeat with remaining batter. Top with additional blueberries and/or syrup and serve.

I'm glad that management is making new improvements for our clubs. However, their most recent one, changing the soap in the shower area is a step backward. The so called citrus ginger foam does not clean as well as what the club has been using before the change. So instead of saving money for the club & time for myself, I have to stay extra longer in the shower because I have to use the soap several times over just to make sure I smell fresh after my workout. Please revert bag to that liquid blue soap that we used to have. SAVE WATER, SAVE TIME. Not sure if all clubs has already been converted to the cirtrus ginger soap but I visited 3 different clubs in the Orange County area & all 3 have the new INEFFECTIVE, USELESS SOAP: 1. Huntington Beach 2. Buena Park 3. Garden Grove

To start this message , how disappointing it is to show up for an aquatic aerobics class only to find that it is discontinued effective immediately without notice and with no intention of having it in the future. (This decision was made by the management at the headquarters level.)
In addition there is no written notification and it is left up to the local management to face the women and men from the ages of 50 thru 80 that come to benefit their health in a safe environment with people of their own age.
There was no notification or indication that any of the exercise machines would be removed, or classes that these seniors can participate in due to limited mobility would be cancelled.
This is a clear indication that the persons with limited abilities are being targeted, in addition it also appears that the women of this age group are being discriminated against. (90% of classes are women)
There was not one employee offering to cancel memberships and refund money to any of these members that have signed up only for these classes. These classes are advertised when the club managers walk potential new members through. (Many are on a limited income and are now locked into a contract.)
How disappointing to see how a national chain treats the senior citizen members both man and women with such lack of respect.
This is one voice that will become many as word of mouth/ keyboard spreads of this truly disrespectful treat of seniors and women.

Hello, I'm writing to ask you to consider opening a gym in Chico, CA. We've grown to 100,000 in population and the gyms here are bursting at the seams. We also support the retail habits of a regional 250,000. The largest gym in town, Inmotion Sports, is grossly overpriced charging a couple $675.00 for one year if you pay up front (for two people). If you pay monthly, you'll be paying close to $900.00 annually. Their equipment is very dated as it appears they purchase lots from other gyms when they upgrade. Everything is ten years old. How do I know this? I'm a new grad student at Chico State who relocated from SoCal for school. Never thought I would so strongly say this, but I miss the 24 Hour "Bang for your Buck" membership. We need you here. As it happens, the Chico Mall is looking for tenants and said he contacted 24 Hour corporate to gauge interest. Please come. Thanks, Randy

I recently am recovering from straining my bicep tendons . Seams to be common in my line of work driving a residential garbage truck . To much repetitive motion of steering one handed and pushing buttons 800 times a day . Some friends and a personal trainer (former Mr. California) recommend Omega 3 6 9 Fish oil and said it is the best . I have found some http://www.vitaminworld.com/top-sellers-893/triple -omega-3-6-9-018520 currently on sale for those in need . Seam to be popular from the amount of recommendations I received . 50% to 52% of orignal price .
Injury Rehab Stories
I like many of you probably get hooked on a similar routing work out . If Doing Chest this may be Bench press, Incline press, cable flys or peck deck ,and possibly decline bench press . More so you have a certain weight you workout with and after a injury of a shoulder or strained peck you probably get discouraged and think you should lay off working out for a while . Here is a Idea to keep in mind : How about trying something new like TRX ,Push Ups or resistance bands . My point is with new exercises you don't focus on what weight used to do, but the form at a light weight . Keep in mind trying new things shock the muscle . So don't give up just change your workout .

VEGETARIAN ENCHILADAS
Here in SoCa (Southern California), Cinco de Mayo is an important holiday celebration. Most likely it's the margaritas and beer but it's always nice to have an excuse for some great Mexican food. These vegetarian enchiladas taste muey bueno and are filled with cancer-fighting spinach - a great source of Vitamins A & K and many other healthful nutrients. Try them out and let us know what you think!
INGREDIENTS
1 (14 - ounce) can diced, low-sodium tomatoes
1 small onion, chopped
4 - 5 teaspoons canned chipotle in adobo sauce, divided
1 1/2 cups low-fat, low sodium cottage cheese
1 (10-ounce) package frozen spinach, thawed
1 (4 - ounce) can diced green chilies
1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
1 bunch green onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
8 (6 - inch) corn tortillas
DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 450°. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place tomatoes, onion and 2-3 teaspoons chipotle in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.
In a medium bowl, mash the cottage cheese with a fork or potato masher. Place thawed spinach in a kitchen towel or strainer and wring or press out excess liquid. Add spinach to cottage cheese. Add green chilies, 1/2 cup cheese, white part of green onion and minced garlic and mix to combine.
Spread 1/4 cup of the tomato sauce in the bottom of the baking dish. Place four tortillas in the bottom of the dish and top with another 1/2 cup sauce. Add the spinach mixture and spread evenly over sauce. Add the remaining 4 tortillas and top with the remaining sauce. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Bake until heated through and cheese is melted - about 25-minutes. Remove from oven and top with remaining green onion and enjoy!

Why not have some Tai Chi classes in north OC? They had them over 25 years ago & they didn't do well according to the MGr of the classes. However, that was over a decade ago & times have changed. Mbrs of all ages could participate.
Salt Lake City/Provo
Hi, I am a 27 year old female looking for a gym buddy in the Provo club. My goal is to loose about 25 lbs of fat and gain more muscle. I would like to do HIIT cardio (treadmill or bike), powerlifting, and yoga/pilates (for stretching). My schedule will be finalized once I figure out my school/work schedule next week, but I am assuming I will be available most evenings/mornings. Reply to this message or send me a private message! Thanks!

I recently moved to the Bay Area from Sacramento and have been disappointed in the local clubs. First of all, with traffic, it takes me at least 20 minutes to get to the closest club, and once I get there, it's small, dirty, dark, and has old equipment. All of the local clubs are like this. Since there are three clubs within two miles of each other, and they are all old, it would make sense to build a new club in a different area. Specifically Union City! This would be between the Hayward and the Newark clubs, a perfect happy medium
